Focus and Scope
"DISEGNARECON” is an international, on-line, diamond open access and blind peer reviewed scientific journal focused on researches and case studies in the fields of architecture and cultural heritage, representation and communication. It invites submissions on these topics and promotes discussion and debate between scholars from Engineering and Architecture Schools. The journal is published by the University of L’Aquila (Italy)

Peer Review Process
"DISEGNARECON” accepts proposals for scientific contributions. Contributions have to focus on issues of concern to the journal. The authors who wish to propose a contribution and start a submission, must register on the journal system.
SUBMISSION ABSTRACT: The Editor in Chief, the Deputy Editor, and Journal Manager, in collaboration with the Issue's Editor(s) check the proposals to assess coherence and suitability to the journal scope and specific issue's call, and accept or decline the abstract; to evaluate the abstracts, they may use external reviewers. Authors of selected papers will be asked to submit the full text of the contribution to start the process of double blind peer review.
DOUBLE BLIND PEER REVIEW PROCESS: The articles' full texts are subjected to a double blind peer review process and valued by two or more qualified reviewer, with the aim of reaching a decision on the publication or underline the appropriate changes to the contribution. Peer reviewers evaluate the scientific and thematic coherence of the proposed contribution, interest in the subject matter and the originality, methodological rogour, and quality of the paper. Once the contribution has been approved in its final version, it will be put in the calendar of publications, taking into account the editorial plan of the journal.
Editorials, prefaces, presentations, afterwords, and interviews are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor, and Journal Manager.
Authors must submit contributions that have not been previously published in other journals, nor in any other form of communication. The authors assume full responsibility for the copyright terms, relieving DISEGNARECON any burden on it.

The journal is published twice a year.

DISEGNARECON provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

DISEGNARECON is a non-commercial scientific journal, based on OJS standards. The journal publishes articles that are subject to a double blind peer-review process by qualified reviewers. The Ethics Code adopted by the journal refers to the Principles of Transparency and Good Practices defined by DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
DUTIES OF THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, DEPUTY EDITOR, JOURNAL MANAGER, EDITOR(S) OF THE SINGLE ISSUE, SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE, AND EDITORIAL BOARD
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for publishing the articles submitted to the journal, in accordance with the editorial line and legal provisions in respect of defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism.
The Editor in Chief, supported by the Deputy Editor, is responsable of the scientific line of the journal.
The Journal Manager is in charge of the management of the journal and supports the Editor-in-Chief and the Deputy Editor in the journal governance.
The Editor-in-Chief, the Deputy Editor and the Journal Manager review the editorials and contribution not subjected to double blind peer review, such as Editorials, Afterwords, Forewords, Interviews. After the double plind peer review of the Articles, they check the camera ready papers before the publication to assure that they are in line with any reviewers comments and with the editorial guideline .
The Editorial Board supports the Editor in chief, the Deputy Editor and the Journal Manager in the editorial management of the journal.
The Scientific Committee is composed by well-known personalities in the research areas of interest of the journal. The Scientific Committee assists the Editor-in-Chief in defining the cultural line of the journal. The Scientific Committee oversees the ethical aspects and practices of the journal. The Scientific Committee is called upon to express its opinion in cases of plagiarism, conduct in conflict with the journal's policies, complaints, notes or letters to the editor. The Scientific Committee is reviewed every three years.
The Editor in Chief, the Deputy Editor, and the Journal Manager have the responsibility to ensure the review process.
The Editor-in-Chief, the Deputy Editor, the Journal Manager, the Editor(s) of the single issue, the Editorial Board, the Reviewers are required to evaluate the authors and the manuscripts as far as they are concerned, exclusively for their scientific content, without distinction of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, scientific, academic or political orientation of the authors.
The Editor in Chief, the Journal Manager, the Editorial Board, and the Editor(s) of the single issue, are required to not disclose any information about the manuscripts received to any subject other than the authors and, as far as they are concerned, to reviewers.
The unpublished material contained in the manuscripts submitted to the Journal cannot be used by the Editor in chief, the Deputy Editor, the Journal Manager, the Editorial Board, by the Editor(s) of the single issue, or by the reviewers, without the written consent of the author(s).
The process of reviewing of any eventual Supplements or Special Numbers is the same as used for ordinary volumes. Journal sections that are not subject to review procedures are clearly identified on the journal site.
DUTIES OF THE REVIEWERS
A selected reviewer who doesn’t feel qualified to review an article or who is prevented to make a quick review, will have to ask to the editors of the single issue or to the Editorial Board to be exonerated from the review process.
Each received article to be submitted to the review process, will be treated as a confidential document and - as such - should not be shown or discussed with others, with the exception of the subjects authorized by the Editor in chief or the Deputy Editor.
The reviews have to be carried out in an objective way, and the reviewers' communications should be clear and reasoned.
If the reviewers notice the existence of published works not mentioned by the authors, they have to report it to the Editors.
Information or ideas obtained through the review process have to be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Furthermore, the reviewers do not have to review articles that may be subject to conflicts of interest arising from competition, collaboration, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies or institutions associated with the article.
DUTIES OF THE AUTHORS
The authors undertake to submit to the journal contributions that have not been previously published. Furthermore, the authors warrant that the published articles and images are not subject to copyright. The quotations of sources and of others' works is under the responsibility of the authors.
The proposed contributions have to contain precise quotations of the sources, reference materials, works and / words. The fraudulent or deliberately inaccurate statements by the authors represent inappropriate and unacceptable behaviors. The author undertakes, under his own responsibility, to obtain the disclaimer for the images covered by copyright and to provide, if necessary, a written disclaimer to the Editor in chief of the journal.
The author relieves the journal from any culpability in case of a controversy. If necessary, authors can be required to provide rough data in relation to the editorial review of an article, and they should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable period of time after the publication.
The co-author's qualification should be guaranteed and limited to anyone who has made a significant contribution to the ideation, execution or interpretation of the elements that constitute each submitted article. If there were other people who have participated in significant but not substantial aspects of the research project, they have to be cited as collaborators of the research. The reference author have to ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the article and have accepted its submission for publication.
If an author discovers any inaccuracies or any significant errors in his published article, he must quickly notify it to the journal's Editor in chief and collaborate with him for the necessary correction. A note about the correction will be reported as additional file to the published paper.
The author(s), submitting the full paper for the double blind peer review process, accepts that the papers, if will be accepted for publication, will be to publish according the "Open Access Policy" of the journal.
ORIGINALITY AND PLAGIARISM
The authors ensure that the submitted work is entirely original. If the authors use the work and/or words of others, they assure that they have been appropriately cited or quoted. All forms of plagiarism and incorrect or omitted citation constitute unacceptable unethical behavior. Changes will be requested from the author or the paper will be withdrawn from publication; in any case the corrected will be reviewed again to decide whether to publish it. Any change in an already published paper will be declared in an additional accompaining file.
DISPUTIES
In the event of a post-publication debate with possible changes and corrections to already published articles or their withdrawal, it will be reported as an additional file to the published paper, or as declaration published in its place. In case of disputes, the competent court will be that of L'Aquila.
Article and Submissions Processing Charges
DISEGNARECON does not ask charges for articles and submissions processing (diamond open access)
Privacy Policy
Personal data on DISEGNARECON server are uploaded by the user when he/she subscrive on the journal system. Personal data are private and they are not transferred to third parties. Personal data are not processed.
The only mandatory personal data required to register on the systema are: name, surname, email. The personal data of the users are stored on the server until the journal works. At any time the user can update / modify his/her personal data. The user can request the cancellation of his/her personal data at any time. The frequency for receiving emails from DISEGNARECN is no preselected.
The authors of accepted papers accept to publish the contents according the "Open Access Policy".
